CM Yogi Adityanath Attends Fourth Convocation of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University, Lucknow

Lucknow | Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the Fourth Convocation Ceremony of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU) in Lucknow on Sunday, where he congratulated the graduating students and wished them success in their professional journeys.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that the university has brought immense pride to both the state and the nation, producing graduates who are playing a crucial role in strengthening India’s judicial system. Quoting the university’s convocation motto, “Satyam Vad, Dharmam Char” (Speak the truth, follow righteousness), he emphasized that it reflects the spirit of India’s ancient gurukul tradition and resonates with the guiding maxims of the Indian Constitution and judiciary — “Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah” and “Yato Dharmasya Tato Jayah.”

Yogi Adityanath highlighted that religion (dharma), for Indians, is a way of life, while worship is a matter of faith. “Religion means fulfilling one’s duties sincerely. The stronger our judicial system, the easier it will be to achieve the goals of good governance,” he said, adding that the idea of Ram Rajya symbolizes an inclusive and just administration, which can be realized through modern governance.

The Chief Minister outlined several steps taken by the state government to strengthen the judicial system — including the implementation of e-Courts, promotion of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), cyber law training, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in justice delivery. He also mentioned the establishment of modern training centers, sports complexes, and hostels in universities and colleges, and ongoing skill development programs for judicial officers, prosecutors, police, and administrative officials.

He noted that Integrated Court Complexes are being constructed in ten districts of Uttar Pradesh, with funding already sanctioned. These complexes will house courts of all levels, advocate chambers, and residential facilities under one roof.

CM Yogi further shared that the state has set up over 380 Fast Track and POCSO courts for speedy trials of crimes related to women and children, while Lok Adalats are being strengthened to deliver quick justice. He added that forensic science laboratories have been established in every police range, along with the Uttar Pradesh State Forensic Institute to train young professionals. The government is also working to integrate e-Courts, e-Policing, e-Prosecution, and e-Forensics into a single digital platform for a transparent and efficient justice system.

Congratulating Justice Surya Kant, who is set to take oath as the 53rd Chief Justice of India later this month, the Chief Minister said that “the Rule of Law can only be effective when there is perfect coordination between the Bench and the Bar — where the Bench symbolizes wisdom, and the Bar represents compassion.”

The ceremony was graced by Justice Surya Kant, Justice Vikram Nath, Allahabad High Court Chief Justice Arun Bhansali, Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, Vice Chancellor Prof. Amar Pal Singh, legislators, and other dignitaries.

Several students were honored for academic excellence:

LLM Category: Harshita Yadav (Gold), Aakriti Srivastava (Silver), Rishabh (Bronze).

BA LLB Category: Abhyuday Pratap (Gold), Saima Khan (Silver), Darshika Pandey (Bronze).
