Sea of faith surges at Baba Vishwanath's darbar on the first day of Shravan

Kashi reverberates with chants of 'Bol Bam' and 'Har Har Mahadev'

Varanasi, July 30 : On the first day of the month of Shravan, a massive influx of devotees thronged the Shri Kashi Vishwanath temple. As soon as the temple doors opened after the Mangala Aarti, the entire city of Kashi echoed with chants of "Har Har Mahadev." A red carpet had been laid out in the temple premises to welcome the devotees. Long queues of devotees had started forming from late Wednesday night for darshan of Baba. In view of the huge turnout, comprehensive and robust security and public convenience arrangements were made at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham on the directions of the Yogi government.

On the very first day of Shravan, a large number of Shiva devotees were seen at the Shiva temples across Kashi. The entire city resonated with chants of "Bol Bam" and "Har Har Mahadev." Kanwariyas began arriving in Kashi late at night to perform Jalabhishek of Baba Vishwanath. Devotees standing in the queues were seen carrying belpatra, garlands of madar flowers, Gangajal, and other sacred offerings dear to Baba Vishwanath.

Durgesh, a Kanwariya from Bihar, stated, "The Yogi government has made excellent arrangements for security, cleanliness, accommodation at camps, and other essential facilities along the entire route." 

He added that police personnel are deployed everywhere and are providing every possible assistance to the devotees. One lane of the Prayagraj-Varanasi route has been reserved to ensure the safe and smooth movement of Kanwariyas. In addition, police personnel and PRV vehicles have been deployed along the entire Kanwar route from a security perspective.

Chief Executive Officer of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, Vish Bhushan Mishra, stated, "Giving the highest priority to the convenience and safety of devotees, the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust has made comprehensive and adequate arrangements throughout the Dham premises and surrounding areas. Trained personnel have been deployed at all entry and exit points to ensure smooth darshan arrangements, and necessary measures have been made to provide orderly and hassle-free darshan to devotees. Medical facilities, ambulances, first aid, doctors, and paramedical staff are available. In addition, arrangements for clean drinking water, glucose, ORS, rest areas, and other basic amenities have been made at various locations."
