Lalit Kala Akademi Leads the Way, Inspiring Young Artists for a Developed India

A one-day painting workshop titled "Colours of Developed India, with Art" was successfully organized by the Lalit Kala Akademi, Regional Centre, at the Faculty of Architecture and Planning at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University in Lucknow. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Finance Minister of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Suresh Khanna, as the chief guest.

The distinguished gathering included notable personalities such as Padma Shri Vidya Bindu, Padma Shri Malini Awasthi, Dr. Poornima Pandey, and other prominent figures, who added to the prestige of the event. The workshop attracted an overwhelming response, with over 1,000 students and independent artists from various institutions, including the College of Art and Crafts, Dr. Shakuntala Misra University, Banaras Hindu University, and several others, participating enthusiastically.

Participants unleashed their creativity, presenting their vision for a 'Developed India' through vibrant artworks. Their paintings covered a range of contemporary themes, including the digital revolution symbolized by UPI and Aadhaar, space technology achievements like Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya L-1, and the 'Make in India' initiative. The Lalit Kala Akademi provided all necessary materials, including canvases and colors, to the participants, ensuring a seamless creative experience.

To encourage the artists, awards were announced in three categories. Independent artists competed for prizes of ₹1,00,000, ₹50,000, and ₹25,000, while college students were eligible for awards of ₹25,000, ₹15,000, and ₹10,000. For school students, the top three prizes were ₹10,000, ₹5,000, and ₹2,500, along with consolation prizes of ₹1,000.

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna praised the artists, stating that "Your creations show the power of art. Art not only expresses emotions but also becomes a medium for social change." Padma Shri Malini Awasthi added that such workshops "provide new energy to the thought of building a 'New India'." The event was a testament to the talent and creativity of the participants, who also shared their creations on the 'Seva Parv' portal and social media.
