From Shobha Yatra to Digital Bhavya Ramayana: A full-day celebration culminating in 26 lakh+ diyas and breathtaking laser-drone spectacle on the Saryu ghats

This year’s Deepotsav will be a divine confluence of devotion, technology and people’s participation, says Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh

Ayodhya/Lucknow, October 18, 2025:

As Ayodhya readies for Deepotsav 2025, the sacred city is set to witness a full day of cultural and devotional celebrations on October 19, blending traditional splendour with cutting-edge technology. The festivities will begin in the morning with the Shobha Yatra and culminate in a record-breaking illumination of 26,11,101 diyas along the ghats of the Saryu, reaffirming Ayodhya’s place as the spiritual light of India.

Shobha Yatra (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

The day will commence with a grand Shobha Yatra, a majestic procession depicting scenes from Lord Ram’s life. Traditional tableaux, artists and cultural troupes will welcome Prabhu Shri Ram with chants, dance and devotion, turning the streets of Ayodhya into a moving celebration of the Ramayana.

Prabhu Shri Ram Rajyabhishek (3:10 PM – 3:30 PM)

The symbolic coronation ceremony of Lord Ram will be held at Ram Ki Paidi, capturing the divine essence of Ram Rajya and marking the eternal triumph of truth and righteousness.

Guinness World Record Attempt  – Deepotsav (5:50 PM – 6:15 PM)

The heart of Deepotsav will unfold as over 26 lakh+ diyas are lit simultaneously by students and volunteers across 56 ghats, creating a golden ocean of light along the Saryu. This breathtaking sight will once again aim for a Guinness World Record, showcasing the power of unity and devotion.

Digital Bhavya Ramayana (6:15 PM – 6:45 PM)

As dusk deepens, Ram Ki Paidi will transform into a stage of divine grandeur through 3D projection mapping, laser illumination, and aerial drone shows narrating the Mahakavya Ramayana in the night sky. The spectacle will merge devotion with digital innovation, giving visitors an immersive storytelling experience.

Cultural Evening at Ramkatha Park (7:25 PM – 8:45 PM)

The evening will conclude at Ramkatha Park with Ramleela Manchan, soulful bhajan sandhya and a special felicitation ceremony for winners of Deepotsav contests.

Speaking about the celebration, Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “Ayodhya’s Deepotsav is not just a festival, it is a reflection of India’s timeless spirit. This year’s edition will connect people from every corner of the world through light, faith and technology, bringing alive the true essence of Ram Rajya.”
