Viksit UP @2047: Citizens Pitch 1.5 Lakh Suggestions on Education, Skills and AI

The Yogi government’s ambitious campaign “Samarth Uttar Pradesh – Viksit Uttar Pradesh @2047” is gaining momentum with massive public participation across the state. From students and teachers to farmers, entrepreneurs, and common citizens, people are stepping forward to share their ideas for shaping the state’s future.

According to official data, more than 1.5 lakh suggestions have been submitted on the government portal samarthuttarpradesh.up.gov.in. Of these, over one lakh responses came from rural areas, while nearly 50,000 were from urban centers. Age-wise, about 50,000 inputs were from citizens below 31 years, 75,000 from those between 31–60 years, and the rest from seniors above 60.

Education Tops the List

Education emerged as the top priority, with over 50,000 suggestions focused on improving learning and linking it directly with skill development and employability. Citizens emphasized the need to integrate vocational subjects into school curricula and expand free skill-development courses via e-learning portals. Many also highlighted the urgent need to strengthen infrastructure and teaching quality in government schools to counter the rising costs of private education in urban areas.

Wide Participation Across Districts

Districts like Kanpur Dehat, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Farrukhabad, Balrampur, and Firozabad recorded the highest participation, together contributing nearly 54,000 suggestions. Other key areas of focus included urban and rural development (25,000), agriculture (20,000), healthcare (15,000), and social welfare (15,000).

AI and Emerging Technologies in Focus

Artificial Intelligence also found strong mention in the citizen feedback. Residents such as Abhishek Kumar and Alok Kumar from Kanpur Dehat stressed that since the advent of ChatGPT in late 2022, AI has shown transformative potential across education, research, healthcare, engineering, and even space exploration. However, experts also cautioned that robust testing and responsible use frameworks are needed before fully trusting AI in sensitive domains.

From Listeners to Contributors

The campaign reflects a shift in public engagement—from being passive spectators to becoming active participants in policymaking. Suggestions around education, skill-building, and technology adoption could serve as the foundation for policies that shape Uttar Pradesh’s vision for 2047.
