What is the mission and vision of Hoerner College?

The mission and vision of the College as laid down by the Founders is – empowering joyful and creative life for students as they concentrate on assimilating knowledge in preparation for a productive and successful life as good human beings and good citizens of the country and the world by transforming learning into a pleasant, essential and delightful experience so the students may achieve their highest potential of learning, growth and success in service for mankind and God.

Can you describe the college's history and milestones?

Hoerner College was founded by Dr. Surender Singh and his wife Mrs. V.S.Singh after they returned to India from the United States of America in 1969. The Foundation Stone was laid by the Honourable Chief Minister Shri C.B.Gupta. The School was opened on the request of the nieghbourhood of Mahanagar Extension, Lucknow. Dr. Singh was the Founding Vice Chancellor of Avadh University Faizabad and education was his mission as he founded many schools in rural areas as well. Hoerner College was primarily to impart education to all with a special mandate for the economically challenged. Initially upto Class 5, Hoerner College flourished with its innovative teaching techniques and global thought. It was then a High School affiliated to UP Board in 1985 and then switched to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations in 1989. In 1997 affiliation to Class 12 was also taken. With a 54 year legacy the milestones are many as Hoerner college was the 1^st School in the City to impart Computer Education as early as 1989, 1^st School with its Website in the year 2000, the 1^st School with a thriving ERP in 2007, the 1^st School with its own App in 2014, the 1^st School with digital Fees Payment platforms in 2015, the 1^st School to introduce Fashion Designing in 2018, the 1^st School to introduce Data Entry as a Vocational Subject. Apart from regular curriculum, Hoerner College offers vocational studies, legal studies, fashion designing and Artificial intelligence and Robotics. Each of these have their own specific unique features as they concentrate on application of knowledge which will open a vista of opportunities in their future paths and personal and professional enhancements.The Assessments have been given a paradigm shift from monthly tests to Assessments spread over into 2 semesters, based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) and Global Competencies in Education (GCE).This has thus decreased the load of tests for the Teacher and student alike and has made classroom environment more conducive to learning in the absence of pressure and given room for co curricular activities as well.

The students are thus encouraged to be self dependent and learn at a pace more suited to them with accountability as well. Teachers are encouraged to research for the topic at hand and innovate in the methodology for enhanced learning.

It is the endeavour at Hoerner College to work in tandem with the statutes of the National Education Policy (NEP) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) as well as the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations towards a common goal of education.In alignment with the NEP, Hoerner College also introduced 10 Bagless Days in Primary and Junior Sections wherein various activities like Carpentry, Gardening, Pottery and Electrical Engineering are conducted for the holistic growth of students.
