GIMS Celebrates 11th Foundation Day with Distinguished Guests and Renewed Vision for Growth

Lucknow: The 11th Foundation Day of Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) was celebrated with enthusiasm and pride on Sunday, marking over a decade of progress in medical education and patient care. The ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished guests from leading medical institutions, along with faculty members, students, resident doctors, nursing staff, and administrative personnel.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Amit Kumar Ghosh, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Health & Family Welfare Department and Medical Education Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Addressing the gathering, he commended the institute for its steady growth and significant contribution toward strengthening healthcare delivery and medical education in the state.

Among the distinguished attendees were Dr. A.K. Singh, Director of Post Graduate Institute of Child Health, Noida; Dr. D.K. Singh, Dean of PGICH Noida; Ajay Kumar Pandey, DIG, Gautam Buddha Nagar; and Dr. Sanjay Mishra, Principal of Autonomous State Medical College Bulandshahr. The guests lauded GIMS for its remarkable achievements and expanding role in academic and clinical excellence.

In his address, Director Dr. (Brigadier) Rakesh Gupta reflected on the institute’s journey over the past eleven years. He highlighted the steady progress made in infrastructure development, academic expansion, and quality patient care. Emphasizing the values of discipline, integrity, and innovation, he stated that these principles have been instrumental in building GIMS into a strong and progressive medical institution.

Dr. Gupta appreciated the collective efforts of faculty members, resident doctors, students enrolled in various academic programs, nursing staff, and administrative teams in transforming GIMS into a rapidly advancing teaching institution and patient care center. He reiterated the institute’s commitment to further strengthening super-speciality services, research initiatives, and academic excellence in the coming years.

The Chief Guest also acknowledged GIMS’s growing contribution to enhancing medical education and healthcare services across Uttar Pradesh. He praised the dedication of faculty members, the achievements of students, and the institution’s consistent focus on quality and innovation.
