LDA Announces 250-km ‘Vigyan Path’ to Strengthen Lucknow’s Regional Connectivity

Project to link Lucknow with five nearby districts under the State Capital Region Master Plan

Lucknow is set to witness a major infrastructure upgrade with the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) unveiling plans for a 250-kilometre, six-lane express corridor, to be known as the ‘Vigyan Path’. The ambitious project, now part of the State Capital Region (SCR) Master Plan, is aimed at transforming the city’s connectivity landscape.

The proposed corridor will directly connect Lucknow with Hardoi, Sitapur, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, and Unnao, bringing the neighbouring districts within closer reach of the state capital. Once developed, travel time to these cities could be reduced to just 60–75 minutes, significantly easing inter-district commuting and reducing the burden on existing city routes.

According to officials, the Vigyan Path will serve as a strategic infrastructure link designed to boost economic, educational, and residential development along its stretch. It is also expected to open up new corridors for industrial investment and expand the city’s peripheral growth zones.

The inclusion of this mega project in the SCR Master Plan reflects a progressive step toward balanced regional development. It aligns with the state government’s broader vision of improving mobility, reducing urban congestion, and establishing Lucknow as a modern economic and educational hub in North India.

By enhancing accessibility and regional integration, the Vigyan Path is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future urban expansion and infrastructure planning of the Lucknow metropolitan area.
