Exhibition of Prof. Sukhveer Singhal's Wash Paintings to Open on November 6
LUCKNOW, NOV 3: A seven-day exhibition of wash paintings by the late Prof. Sukhveer Singhal, a pioneer of the wash art technique, will open at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi on November 6. The exhibition, titled "Museum on the Wheels," will feature 45 artworks and run until November 12.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Dr. Sanjeev Kishore Gautam, Director General of the National Gallery of Modern Art, Dr. Nandalal Thakur, Vice President of the Lalit Kala Akademi, Dr. Alka Pande, Art Historian and Museum Curator, and Prashant Bhushan, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court and Art Enthusiast.
Prof. Singhal's artworks, which include famous series like "River of Life," "Phases of Life," "Marriage," "Arjun as an Ideal Man," "Indian Life," "Ramcharit," and "Kashmir Landscape," will be on display. The exhibition also features his tapestries and other artworks, showcasing his mastery of various mediums, including watercolor, silk, wood, and leather.
A renowned artist and educator, Prof. Singhal was born in 1914 in Muzaffarnagar and played a significant role in promoting Indian art and culture. He developed the Indianized wash painting technique, which has become a hallmark of his work.
The exhibition is being organized by Priyam Chandra, Prof. Singhal's granddaughter, who aims to share his artistic legacy with a wider audience.
