Bhatkhande Sanskriti University Marks 150 Years of “Vande Mataram” with Grand Choral Singing Ceremony

Bhatkhande Sanskriti University, Lucknow, resonated with patriotic fervour as the institution celebrated 150 years of India’s national song “Vande Mataram” with a grand choral singing ceremony at the Rai Umanath Bali Auditorium. The event was organised under the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of Uttar Pradesh to commemorate the immortal composition of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, penned in 1875 as a timeless ode to the motherland.
The auditorium reverberated with emotion and national pride as students, faculty members, and staff joined in unison to sing Vande Mataram, their voices merging in a stirring expression of unity and devotion. The collective rendition filled the hall with an overwhelming sense of patriotism and cultural pride, leaving the audience deeply moved.
The university community celebrated the milestone as a symbol of national unity, love for the country, and India’s rich cultural heritage. Participants took a pledge to embody the spirit of Vande Mataram in their daily lives and to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress and development.
The ceremony was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mandavi Singh, whose inspiring presence added dignity to the occasion. Heads of departments, professors, teachers, and a large number of students attended the event, making it a memorable tribute to the enduring power of India’s national song and its message of devotion to the motherland.
