India’s Holistic Vision in Focus @ FICCI FLO Lucknow
The Lucknow chapter of FICCI FLO organized a thought-provoking and intellectually enriching session on the theme “India’s Mind, Body, and Soul” at Taj Mahal, Lucknow, bringing together distinguished voices from medicine, politics, and civil society to explore India’s evolving cultural and holistic identity.
The keynote address was delivered by Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Sudhanshu Trivedi, who spoke extensively on India’s growing global presence—not only as an economic power but also as a civilization rooted in deep spiritual and cultural consciousness. He emphasized that India’s true strength lies in its traditions, family values, and its integrated approach to life that connects physical well-being with mental and spiritual balance.
Trivedi highlighted that modern India is increasingly embracing wellness, mindfulness, and emotional resilience as essential components of daily living. He remarked that consciousness remains central to human existence, suggesting that the mind functions as a receiver of higher awareness. His address encouraged the audience to reflect on the deeper dimensions of Indian philosophical thought, particularly Vedanta, which views life as a harmonious unity of body, mind, and soul.
He further discussed India’s cultural perspective on women, stating that Indian tradition accords the highest respect to women, often symbolizing them as embodiments of divine energy. He referenced cultural festivals such as Navratri to illustrate how feminine power is celebrated within Indian society. He also touched upon India’s growing leadership in digital innovation and financial technology, noting its global leadership in digital transactions.
Adding a healthcare perspective, Dr. Mayank Somani, MD and CEO of Apollo Medics Hospitals, stressed the urgent need for preventive healthcare in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. He urged individuals to prioritize regular medical check-ups, maintain mental stability, and avoid unnecessary stress. According to him, balanced living is key to long-term well-being in an increasingly demanding environment.
The event was conceptualized by Simran Sahni, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Lucknow, and smoothly conducted by anchor Jyoti Diwan. It witnessed the presence of former FLO Chairpersons including Arushi Tandon, Swati Verma, and Vibha Agarwal, along with members of the executive committee and several distinguished guests from the city’s professional and social circles.
Participants described the session as deeply insightful and reflective, appreciating its focus on India’s holistic development model that integrates mental health, cultural wisdom, and spiritual awareness. The discussion reinforced the idea that India’s progress is not only defined by economic growth but also by its ability to preserve and promote its timeless civilizational values.
The event concluded on an inspiring note, with attendees acknowledging it as a meaningful initiative that bridges tradition with contemporary thought, while encouraging a more balanced and conscious way of life.
