First Theatrical Performance of Winter Youth Theatre Workshop Showcases Kalidasa’s “Abhijnan Shakuntalam”

Lucknow: The inaugural theatrical performance under the Winter Experiential Youth Theatre Workshop featured the timeless classic “Abhijnan Shakuntalam” by the legendary poet Kalidasa. The play, directed by  Rosy Mishra, was successfully staged at the Sant Gadge Auditorium of the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including  Vishvabhushan Mishra, Director of the Charitable Works Directorate and Chief Executive Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, and  Jayant Khot, Chairman of the Sangeet Natak Akademi. Their presence highlighted the significance of nurturing young talent in the performing arts.

At the conclusion of the event, the  Chairman and Director of the Akademi presented participation certificates to all workshop participants, recognizing their dedication and contributions to the theatre workshop.

The performance marked a significant milestone in promoting classical theatre among young artists, blending traditional artistry with contemporary interpretation.
