Ethics, Excellence and Pride Shine at ICAI Convocation 2026
In a moment of pride for the accounting and finance fraternity in Uttar Pradesh, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) successfully organized its “Convocation – May 2026” in Lucknow for the very first time. The grand ceremony, hosted by the Lucknow Branch of the Central India Regional Council (CIRC) of ICAI, was held at Holiday Inn Lucknow Airport amid an atmosphere filled with pride, celebration, and inspiration.
The prestigious event was conducted under the aegis of ICAI’s Members and Students Services Directorate and witnessed enthusiastic participation from newly qualified Chartered Accountants, their parents, family members, senior professionals, and distinguished guests from the fraternity. The occasion marked the formal beginning of the professional journeys of hundreds of aspiring finance professionals who recently earned the coveted CA qualification.
The convocation ceremony was graced by several prominent members of the profession, including Gyan Chandra Mishra, Central Council Member of ICAI; Ankur Goyal, Chairman of CIRC of ICAI; Ashwani Jaiswal, Chairman of the Lucknow Branch of CIRC of ICAI; and Ashish Gupta, Secretary of the Lucknow Branch. Former chairpersons and senior members of the branch also attended the ceremony, adding to the significance and grandeur of the event.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers congratulated the newly qualified Chartered Accountants and highlighted the larger role the profession plays in strengthening the nation’s economic framework. They emphasized that Chartered Accountancy is not merely a profession but a symbol of ethics, integrity, discipline, trust, and responsibility.
The dignitaries encouraged the young professionals to embrace continuous learning and stay updated with evolving financial and technological landscapes. They also urged them to maintain the highest standards of professional conduct while contributing meaningfully to society and the economy.
Speaking on the opportunities within the profession, office bearers noted that the CA field offers equal opportunities for growth and success based purely on merit, hard work, and dedication. They called upon the newly inducted professionals to actively participate in nation-building by ensuring financial transparency, strengthening compliance systems, and supporting India’s economic development.
The Lucknow Branch office bearers also expressed gratitude to the ICAI leadership for choosing Lucknow as a convocation venue for the first time. They described the occasion as a proud milestone for the region and a reflection of the growing institutional strength and professional dynamism of the Lucknow Branch.
One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony came during the presentation of certificates to the newly qualified Chartered Accountants. The young professionals also took an oath pledging to uphold the dignity, ethical values, and professional standards associated with the CA profession.
