GIDA Day to catch talent young

In yet another effort to give the business community a much needed fillip, Gorakhpur is all set to host a mini trade expo to give trade, business and start-ups a much needed push. Stalls for startups will be made available to students of universities and colleges in the exhibition to be organized from 30th November, the foundation day of Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA). Students will showcase their unique startup ideas in front of entrepreneurs from big groups like Adani, Reliance, Tata, Haldiram among others. The Vice Chancellors of MMUT, Gorakhpur University and AKTU will be contacted on behalf of GIDA. 25 stalls will be provided for educational institutions.

The exhibition will run for three days. Startups from various universities and technical colleges were showcased at the International Trade Show in Noida. In which some startups have also been adopted by big entrepreneurs. The same experiment is being done on GIDA Day. There are preparations to set up about 250 stalls in it. Out of these, 150 stalls will be local.

Stalls will also be made available for other government departments including the Agriculture Department. Stalls of many big units will also be set up here. Top startups from more than 500 technical colleges affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will be showcased. An agreement has been reached between the Chamber of Industries and AKTU for this.

AKTU is selecting better startups

AKTU Vice Chancellor Prof. JP Pandey has given information in this regard to former Chamber of Industries President SK Aggarwal. There is a demand for 50 stalls from the Vice Chancellor. But GIDA administration has agreed to give only 25 stalls. A large number of entrepreneurs will come to GIDA Day. It is expected that good startups can be adopted by big entrepreneurs. If half a dozen startups also get a better platform, the event will be successful. AKTU Vice Chancellor Prof. JP Pandey told the media that better startups are being selected. After selection, its information will be given to the Chamber and GIDA administration. GIDA CEO Anuj Malik said that stalls will also be made available for students of educational institutions. Preparations for Gida Day are going on in full swing.

This comes at a time when CM Yogi Adityanath's vision regarding the development of Gorakhpur is clearly visible. Big companies will be seen investing in the industrial corridor being developed in front of the Link Expressway and the industrial area being built in Dhuriapar. It is being told that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself has taken charge to make the project successful.

It is being told that during the foundation day celebrations of GIDA, there will be a meeting of CM Yogi with 18 big companies including PepsiCo. In this, these companies will be encouraged to invest in Gorakhpur. Many big companies have invested in GIDA in the industrial area of Gorakhpur. Here, land has been allotted to entrepreneurs for Plastics and Garments Park. Now the entire focus of the state government and GIDA administration is to get investment from big companies in the industrial corridor being developed on both sides of the Gorakhpur Link Expressway.

Recently, Adani Group had started searching for land to set up a cement factory in Gorakhpur, although they have not got the land yet, but the GIDA administration is trying to convince them for investment. Apart from this, discussions have also been held several times with the representatives of Bikaner, a company manufacturing namkeen and other food items. After construction of Asian Paints warehouse in Gorakhpur, now Berger Paints has also been invited for investment. The shoe manufacturing company Red Tape has also been contacted.
