Governor Anandiben Patel Presides Over 9th Convocation Ceremony of Siddharth University, Kapilvastu, Siddharthnagar

Lucknow: The 9th Convocation Ceremony of Siddharth University, Kapilvastu, Siddharthnagar was held  under the chairmanship of Governor and Chancellor of State Universities,  Anandiben Patel. Addressing the ceremony, the Governor congratulated the university fraternity for achieving the QS I-GAUGE Gold Ranking, acknowledging the institution’s commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence.

During the event, the Governor digitally integrated all mark sheets and degrees into DigiLocker, ensuring easy and secure access for students to their academic credentials.

In her inspiring address, Governor Patel expressed pride in visiting the sacred land of Siddharthnagar, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, where the message of peace, compassion, and humanity first resonated. She said that the region continues to attract global attention for its cultural and spiritual legacy.

Congratulating the medal winners, the Governor said that educated youth can become the torchbearers of societal transformation, and when they act with discipline, diligence, and strong values, they pave a new path for the nation. She particularly highlighted that most of the gold medals this year were awarded to female students, calling it a proud moment for women empowerment.

“Today’s daughters are not just walking shoulder to shoulder with men but often taking the lead and shining brighter with their talent,” she remarked, referring to the Indian Women’s Cricket Team’s victory in the 2025 World Cup as a symbol of strength and inspiration. “Nari Shakti is not only a source of inspiration but a symbol of power, enthusiasm, and triumph,” she added.

The Governor called upon universities to stay connected with rural areas, understand the needs of the people, and contribute to solving their problems. “Villages are the soul of India. If we can empower rural youth, the nation will automatically become stronger,” she said, emphasizing opportunities in agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, and horticulture.

Encouraging environmental awareness, she said, “Every tree planted is not just protection for the environment but a gesture of gratitude toward life.” She urged the university to continue regular plantation drives in and around the campus.

Motivating students, the Governor said, “The 21st century is an era of transformation, and the youth of a developed India are living in a golden age.” She added that India is on its way to becoming the world’s third-largest economy, and every citizen—especially the youth—must contribute actively to the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

The Governor also inaugurated an ICU ambulance for the university, released the convocation souvenir and several academic publications, and distributed prizes to students from adopted villages who won competitions organized by the university. She also gifted books published by Raj Bhavan to the District Magistrate and Chief Development Officer.

Chief Guest Director of IISER Mohali urged students to use their knowledge and skills for the upliftment of society and the nation, saying that “the essence of Indian knowledge tradition lies in service to humanity.”
Guest of Honour, Minister of State for Higher Education Smt. Rajni Tiwari, congratulated graduates and research scholars and encouraged them to take an active role in building an Atmanirbhar Bharat and realizing the goals of Digital India.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kavita Shah shared the university’s achievements and ongoing initiatives in research, education, and social responsibility.

Prominent attendees included MP Jagdambika Pal, MLAs Mata Prasad Pandey, Shyamdhani Rahi, and Vinay Verma, Basti Division Commissioner Akhilesh Kumar Singh, DIG Sanjeev Tyagi, District Magistrate Shivsharanappa G.N., Superintendent of Police Dr. Abhishek Mahajan, and several academic and administrative dignitaries from affiliated colleges.
