Uttar Pradesh Police Pays Tribute to Martyrs on Police Memorial Day
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to the brave police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, saying their sacrifice will inspire others to work with dedication and commitment.
Addressing the 'Police Memorial Day-2025' ceremony, Adityanath said the state government is committed to the welfare and security of police personnel and their families. He laid a wreath at the Police Martyr's Memorial and honored the families of the martyrs.
"Police personnel have made supreme sacrifices to maintain law and order and ensure public safety," Adityanath said. "Their bravery and dedication will continue to inspire us to work towards a safer and more secure society."
The Chief Minister highlighted the government's initiatives to improve police infrastructure and resources, including the creation of new posts, modernization of equipment, and provision of better facilities.
He also emphasized the government's zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals, citing successful operations against organized crime and the seizure of illegal assets worth over Rs 14,467 crore.
Adityanath praised the police force for their efforts in maintaining law and order, especially during the Mahakumbh-2025 festival, and for their role in promoting women's safety and empowerment through initiatives like 'Mission Shakti'.
The government has allocated a budget of Rs 40,661 crore for the police department in the current financial year, which is 4% more than the previous year.
The ceremony was attended by senior police officials, government ministers, and other dignitaries.
