STUDY VISIT OF  JPC ON ONE NATION ONE ELECTION IN LUCKNOW

Considering the wider implications of the proposed Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty–Ninth  Amendment) Bill, 2024 & the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024 on the functioning of our polity, the Joint Parliamentary Committee thereupon under the Chairmanship of Shri PP Chaudhary, MP has decided to undertake study visit to Panaji and Lucknow from 10 to 15 July, 2026, so as to continue its regional outreach and to hold consultations with stakeholders such as high constitutional functionaries, elected representatives, political parties, state administration, financial and educational institutions, academicians, State Bar Councils, Advocate Associations of respective High Courts,  professional bodies and representatives of Civil Society at the provincial level.


Said exercise is in continuation of earlier similar visits undertaken by the said Joint Parliamentary Committee to Mumbai, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Shimla, Bangaluru and Gandhinagar where the Committee interacted with a wide spectrum of stakeholders ranging including Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, Presiding Officers of Legislative Bodies, leaders of political parties, banks, Public Sector Undertakings and regulatory bodies such as RBI & SEBI, NABARD and various eminent personalities from the States of Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and the UT of Chandigarh as well as NCT of Delhi. 
In its ensuing visit the Committee is expected to have many meaningful interactions.
