Silk sector emerging as a strong foundation for self-reliance and employment under the Yogi government

Lucknow, July 30 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is working with full commitment towards the overall development of the silk sector, increasing farmers' income, and generating employment. Khadi and Village Industries, Silk, Handloom and Textile Industry Minister Rakesh Sachan stated this during a review meeting held at the Directorate of Silk in Lucknow on Thursday. He conducted a detailed review of the department's various schemes, budget expenditure, training programmes, and administrative work.

The Minister directed officials to ensure that the benefits of all Silk Department schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in a timely, transparent, and effective manner. He made it clear that any kind of negligence in the implementation of the schemes would not be accepted. He also laid special emphasis on physical verification of the schemes, regular monitoring, and completion of all works within the stipulated timeline.

Rakesh Sachan directed officials to ensure quality training at training centres and prepare an effective action plan to link trained beneficiaries with self-employment and silk production. While reviewing the budget expenditure, he instructed officials to ensure that the sanctioned funds are utilized in accordance with the rules and within the prescribed timeframe. He also directed that the expenditure under each budget head be verified and a detailed report be submitted.

In addition, directions were issued to send time-bound proposals and establish better coordination to secure the maximum benefit for the state from the Central Government's schemes. Additional Chief Secretary B.L. Meena and senior departmental officials were present at the meeting.
