On the instructions of LDA Vice Chairman Prathmesh Kumar, the Engineering, Electrical-Mechanical, Security and Public Relations departments have prepared a recovery notice fixing the demolition cost at Rs 26,14,212. The notice will now be sent to the accused building owner to recover the amount.

What happened in Aliganj

Following a demolition order issued by the competent authority court against the illegal construction, the LDA carried out the demolition on July 25, 2026.

Machinery and administrative costs included
Madhvesh Kumar said JCBs, poclains, drill machines, dumpers and other machinery along with labourers were deployed for the demolition and debris removal. All security and other administrative arrangements were also made by the Authority.

As per the Vice Chairman’s directions, the entire expenditure incurred during the demolition was to be recovered from the building owner. After calculating all costs, the total was fixed at Rs 26,14,212.

Recovery notice to be issued
The Zonal Officer added that the policy of recovering demolition costs from violators is already in place. This was also mentioned in the notice pasted at the site under the demolition order.

Based on this, a recovery notice will be sent to the accused building owner. If the owner fails to pay, legal action will be taken.
