Kanpur Book Fair 2025 Opens

Kanpur | The air at the Rajkiya Inter College grounds in Chunniganj, Kanpur, was charged with literary energy this morning as the Kanpur Book Fair 2025 was inaugurated with great enthusiasm. The city’s Mayor, Pramila Pandey, formally opened the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp, marking the beginning of a week-long celebration of books, art, and culture.

In her inspiring address, Mayor Pandey reminded the audience of the timeless value of books in an increasingly digital world:

“Books are not just vessels of knowledge — they are the carriers of our civilization, culture, and values. In today’s digital era, as reading habits slowly fade, such book fairs play a vital role in reconnecting society with the world of books. The youth must rediscover the joy of reading, for a good book gives us the right perspective on life.”

Applauding the organizers, she added that “Kanpur has always been the land of literature and journalism. This fair will serve as a bridge between tradition and progress.”

The event saw the presence of distinguished guests including  Sushil Kumar, Managing Director, UPMRC, and  Ankur Goyal, Regional Council Member, IESI. Both emphasized the importance of reading and literary awareness in shaping intellectual and cultural thought.

The inaugural ceremony was conducted gracefully by Naveen Shukla, with noted litterateur Dr. Manish Shukla and senior journalist Sridhar Agnihotri among the prominent attendees. A large crowd gathered around the Shilpayan Publications stall led by Umesh Sharma, where readers eagerly explored new releases and rare literary works.

Behind the scenes, the fair’s vibrant organization was steered by Manoj Singh Chandel, Sanjay Kumar Singh (K.E. President), and Akarsh Chandel, Director of Forceone Books, whose vision brought the event to life.

The opening day witnessed a convergence of writers, poets, educators, students, and citizens — all united by their love for the written word. Over the coming days, the fair will host literary discussions, poetry recitations, art exhibitions, and interactive dialogue sessions, making it a cultural extravaganza for the people of Kanpur and beyond.

Organized under the banner of Forceone Books, the event carries the theme — “Spreading the Light of Knowledge.” Partner organizations such as Origins, Vijay Studio, Kanpur Metro, Kiran Foundation, City Essence, and Trade Mitra have joined hands to make the festival a success.

With its perfect blend of tradition, intellect, and creativity, the Kanpur Book Fair 2025 is not just a marketplace for books — it’s a festival of ideas, a meeting ground for minds, and a reminder that in the heart of India’s industrial capital, the spirit of literature continues to thrive.
