Chief Electoral Officer Seeks Political Parties' Cooperation
Lucknow: Chief Electoral Officer, Uttar Pradesh, Navdeep Rinwa, held a meeting with representatives of recognized national and state-level political parties to discuss the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists.
Rinwa emphasized the importance of cooperation from all parties to ensure the accuracy and purity of voter lists, stating that a clean voter list is the foundation of a strong democracy.
He requested parties to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) at each polling station to assist in distributing and collecting enumeration forms, and to collaborate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
The CEO outlined the SIR process, including the distribution of enumeration forms from November 4 to December 4, 2025, and the publication of the draft voter list on December 9, 2025.
Claims and objections will be accepted from December 9, 2025, to January 8, 2026, and the final voter, including revisions, will be published on February 7, 2026.
Rinwa urged parties to support the process, emphasizing that a clean voter list is crucial for a fair electoral process.
Representatives from various parties, including BJP, Congress, SP, BSP, CPI(M), AAP, and Apna Dal (S), attended the meeting.
