Lucknow’s Biggest Book Party Returns: 10-Day Literary Fest Begins March 13 at Ravindralaya
Lucknow: Lucknow is all set to turn into a paradise for readers, creators and culture lovers as the Lucknow Book Fair returns with a vibrant 10-day celebration from March 13 to March 22 at the sprawling lawns of Ravindralaya Charbagh. With free entry, live performances, author interactions, and book launches, the fair promises to be far more than just a marketplace for books—it’s shaping up to be a full-scale cultural festival.
This year’s theme, “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Pradesh”, connects the spirit of literature with the nation’s vision for development as India approaches 2047. But the fair’s real charm lies in its youthful energy—poetry slams, storytelling sessions, theatre, music and dance performances will keep the stage buzzing every day.
Organiser Manoj Singh Chandel believes Lucknow’s growing cultural scene is ready for such dynamic literary gatherings. Inspired by the massive turnout at the recently concluded New Delhi World Book Fair, the team hopes to recreate that excitement in the city of nawabs.
A Fair Where Books Meet Creativity
Visitors can expect around 60 stalls packed with books across genres—from contemporary fiction and academic titles to bestsellers and regional literature. Prominent publishers including the National Book Trust will be joined by independent presses and booksellers from across India, offering fresh reads and popular titles at discounts starting from 10 percent.
Adding a creative twist, young artists will paint a 15-foot live canvas celebrating 150 years of the iconic patriotic song Vande Mataram, turning the fair into an evolving piece of art as visitors watch the masterpiece take shape.
More Than Books: A Cultural Playground
The fair is designed as a youth-friendly cultural hub. Dedicated pavilions will host poetry readings, mushairas, theatre performances, book discussions, storytelling sessions, and “Meet the Author” events. Students and young writers will get the rare chance to interact directly with authors and poets.
A special stall will showcase books by local writers, giving emerging voices from Lucknow their moment in the spotlight.
Tech Meets Tradition
Supported by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation, the fair will also highlight modern publishing technologies and digital content, alongside traditional print books. Stalls will feature educational material, stationery and resources for teachers and students.
Food, Fun and Awadhi Flavours
What’s a Lucknow event without food? Visitors can also indulge in a festival of Awadhi cuisine, making the fair an experience for both the mind and the palate.
According to T.P. Havelia of the Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association, the fair will run daily from 11 AM to 9 PM, with ample parking and activities designed to attract families, students and young readers.
A Festival for the Next Generation of Readers
Schools and colleges across the city are being invited to participate in competitions, literary activities and youth programmes, reinforcing the fair’s mission—building a new generation that sees reading not as a task but as an adventure.
In short, the Lucknow Book Fair 2026 is shaping up to be a lively blend of books, ideas, art, conversations and food—the perfect place for young minds to discover stories, meet creators and fall in love with reading all over again.
