10 Leading Schools Join GCED Pilot Initiative by Shishir Leadership Academy

Lucknow, August 16, 2025 – Ten prominent schools in Uttar Pradesh have subscribed to the Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Pilot Initiative launched by Shishir Leadership Academy. As part of this initiative, noted peace educator Dr. Shishir Srivastava is visiting each school to conduct a special orientation workshop for students and teachers, instilling the values of global citizenship.

The participating schools are: Modern Academy, The Millennium School (TMS), Amity International School (Vrindavan Yojna), Birla Open Minds International School (Ayodhya Road), Seth MR Jaipuria School (Bansal Campus), Lucknow International Public School, SDSN Public School, Kunskapsskolan, Pioneer Montessori School and Souvann’s Millennium Public School.

Students are responding enthusiastically to the sessions. "Today’s session made me more aware of my responsibilities as a global citizen and inspired me to take care in conserving the environment and fulfilling my duty towards it." said Ishi Pandey, a grade 11 student, from Amity International School, Vridavan Yojna, Lucknow. "Through this Global Citizenship Education programme, I learned practical ways to protect our planet, understood how deeply we are connected to nature and humanity, and discovered how we can contribute to safeguarding the future for generations to come," said Naitik Singh, Head Boy of the school.

Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Dr. Shishir Srivastava said, “Through this pilot, my mission is to prepare Gen Z and the emerging Gen Alpha to think beyond national borders, to see the entire world as one country and all humanity as one family. The challenges of our century demand global-minded citizens who act with compassion, cooperation and courage. I am deeply grateful to the school management and principals who have embraced this vision and taken the first step towards building a generation of peace leaders.”
