SP chief respectfully meets top seer
Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav met Jyotishpeethadhishwar and Dwarka Sharda Peeth Shankaracharya, Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, at Lucknow this morning and sought his blessings.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on cow protection, Sanatan traditions, social concerns, and contemporary national issues.
These days, Shankaracharya is touring various districts of Uttar Pradesh as part of his Gavishti [Dharamyudh for Cow Protection] Yatra. The objective of the yatra is to spread public awareness on cow protection, respect for cattle, and Sanatan values. Through this yatra, he is calling for making cow protection a mass movement, ensuring the safety of cattle, effectively stopping cow slaughter, and creating widespread awareness in society for cow service and the preservation of Sanatan traditions.
In this context, during Shankaracharya Ji’s Lucknow visit, Akhilesh Yadav met him, took his blessings, and discussed in detail cow protection, Sanatan traditions, and contemporary issues.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Akhilesh Yadav said that the Shankaracharya Ji is deeply concerned about the condition of Gau Mata. He said that cow protection is not just a political slogan but an important subject of Indian culture and Sanatan tradition, and serious work is needed on it.
Akhilesh Yadav said that for the Bharatiya Janata Party, money and votes are priorities, not religion. He alleged that the BJP keeps changing its stand on religious issues according to its political interests. He said that today, Sanatanis across the world are concerned about the way the dignity of Lord Shri Ram and religious sentiments in Ayodhya have been linked to political self-interest, which has hurt people’s emotions. He said that in Sanatan Dharma, there can be no sin greater than tampering with or stealing from temple offerings.
Raising questions on the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe, Shri Akhilesh Yadav said that questions are also being raised on the impartiality of this investigation. He said that information has come to light that a case of fraud is also registered against a member of the SIT. In such a situation, transparent action is necessary to maintain public trust in the entire investigation.
Yadav said that this is not just an investigation into a single case but also appears to be a matter of conflict between various centers of power. He alleged that raids and cases are being registered continuously against opposition leaders, while no action is taken on complaints by the opposition. He said that in a democracy, politics of vendetta should not be carried out in the name of political rivalry. Those who are in power today should not forget that there is a change of power in a democracy.
On the Ram Temple issue, Akhilesh Yadav said that not just the mould, the entire structure should be changed; Sanatanis are deeply hurt. That is, mere formal action will not be enough, and necessary reforms should be made in the entire system, because crores of people who follow Sanatan Dharma have been hurt by this entire episode.
Targeting the state government, he said that the current government has given the public inflation, unemployment, and hardships. Farmers are not getting fertilizer on time and are also not getting a fair price for their produce. He described the issue of adulteration in ethanol as a new form of corruption, saying that it is affecting the interests of both farmers and the common public.
Akhilesh Yadav expressed confidence that the people of the state will seriously assess all these issues in the upcoming elections and give their verdict in a democratic manner.
