Parade Marks Culmination of Medical Officers Basic Course in Lucknow

The culmination parade for the Medical Officers Basic Course (MOBC)-258 was held at the Officers Training College (OTC), Army Medical Corps Centre & College, Lucknow.

The seven-week course ran from 08 June 2026 to 25 July 2026 under the guidance of the Commandant and Chief Instructor of OTC, Major General Anuj Chawla.

Through this course, young medical and dental officers of the Armed Forces receive intensive combat medical support training to enable them to discharge their duties effectively and to prepare them as uniformed medical and dental officers. The officers also attended the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Provider Course and were trained in the latest techniques that are shaping warfare of the current generation.

A total of 127 officers participated in the course, including 37 women officers with tri-service representation and 05 officers from friendly foreign countries. The parade was conducted with full military traditions. The culmination parade was reviewed by Major General Kanwarjit Singh, Acting Commandant and Officiating Records, Army Medical Corps Centre & College, Lucknow.

Captain Shivam Aggarwal was adjudged the Best All-Round Officer of the course and was awarded the Commandant Rolling Trophy. Captain Sahil Thakur was named Best Officer in Field Events and received the Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Ashok Chakra Memorial Trophy.

Addressing the young officers, the Reviewing Officer appreciated their immaculate turnout and the professional conduct of the parade. He urged them to uphold the traditions of the Armed Forces Medical Services while maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence.

The General Officer advised the officers to continuously update and enhance the knowledge gained at the Officers Training College. Highlighting the opportunities provided by the Armed Forces, he encouraged them to work hard to advance their professional aspirations and to remain committed to providing quality patient care to our soldiers in both war and peace.

The parade was witnessed by over 200 proud parents and relatives of the course officers, along with a large gathering of Armed Forces Medical Services officers.
