Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan top body meets

The Executive Council and General Council meeting of Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan, Lucknow was successfully held at the institute premises. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Kumkum Dhar, Chairperson of the institute, and attended by several dignitaries, including Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, Vice-Chairperson, and Sanjay Kumar Singh, Special Secretary, Culture/Director.

The meeting discussed promoting Kathak dance through high-level programs in members' home districts and work areas. Members praised workshops held in districts and agreed to conduct more training workshops. The meeting seriously considered preserving and promoting music education in secondary and higher education colleges to provide employment opportunities for young and senior artists.

The meeting also discussed promoting Kathak dance internationally through global platforms. A proposal was made to sign MOUs with various universities to further promote Kathak dance. The meeting was attended by several notable personalities, including Prof. Ashwini Kumar Mishra, Regional Higher Education Officer, and Shailja Kant, representing the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi.
