Kanpur: The third day of the Kanpur Book Fair 2025, underway at Government Inter College, Chunni Ganj, unfolded as a vibrant confluence of literature, art and grand felicitation ceremonies. With free entry and a minimum discount of 10 percent on books, the fairgrounds witnessed an impressive surge in footfall, especially from young readers and cultural enthusiasts.

Youth Drive Energy and Participation
Young visitors continued to dominate the fair with lively participation. For many, the venue served not just as a book-shopping destination but also as a platform to present talent, engage with creators and explore new genres.

Crowd-Pullers: New and Popular Releases
Stalls of major publishers drew consistent attention as readers flocked to explore new releases and bestselling titles.

  • Rajkamal Prakashan Group captivated readers with Charlie Chaplin’s Autobiography, Seema Kapoor’s Yoon Guzri Ab Talak, Javed Akhtar’s Sepia, Gulzar’s collection Gun-Gunaiye featuring 500 songs, and Anoopmani Tripathi’s satirical work Saapon Ki Sabha.

  • Divyansh Publications drew crowds with the newly released eight-volume, 4,000-page collection Osho Geeta Darshan.

  • Hind Yugm registered strong sales with Vinod Kumar Shukla’s Deewar Mein Ek Khidki, Keval Jadey Hain, Manav Kaul’s Sanyam, and Divya Prakash Dubey’s Yaar Paap, October Junction and Sugar Daddy.

Honours at the All India Medha Vikas Parishad Ceremony
A special felicitation programme and grand Kavi Sammelan were organised by the All India Medha Vikas Parishad, Lucknow, and Kalyani Sahitya Sansthan, Barabanki.

  • Chief Guest: International poet Dr. Suresh Awasthi, who received the Kavyashirmani Samman.

  • Chair: Rakesh Kumar Mehta, former president, International Human Rights & Crime Control Branch.

  • Emcee: Dr. Veena Uday.

Several distinguished personalities were honoured, including Dr. Radheshyam Mishra, Dr. Shobha Singh, Ravi Rudransh, Sandeep Anuragi and Dr. Kamal Somvanshi with the Sahitya Gaurav Samman. Dr. Uday Pratap Singh received the Chikitsa Gaurav Samman, while Padmkant Sharma Prabhat and Dr. Veena Uday were presented the Kalyani Sahitya Gaurav Samman.

Kavyabeethika Hosts a Grand Poetry Evening
In the evening, a large-scale poetry conference and felicitation programme took place under the joint aegis of Kavyabeethika Sahityik evam Sanskritik Manch, Kanpur Sahitya Sindhu Vikasika and Hindi Sahitya Academy.

Nearly 50 poets from Kanpur and other regions recited their compositions. Prominent voices included Dr. Madhu Pradhan, Dr. Shashi Shukla, Lata Goyal, Sunita Tiwari, Deepanjali Dubey, Anita Bala Tripathi, Sudha Chaudhary, Sunita Agrawal, Alka Mishra, Harsh Vardhan Tripathi, Poornima Tripathi, Neeru Srivastava, Suresh Sahani, Akshat Vyom, Manish Tripathi, Raja Hasan, Adarsh Saxena, Mahendra Vishwakarma, Jayaram Jay, Vinod Tripathi, Dr. Rajeshwari Dhouddiyal, Dr. Swarnlata, Vishesh Srivastava, Chandni Pandey and many others.

At the close of the event, programme coordinator Dr. Uma Vishwakarma extended heartfelt thanks to all participants and attendees.
