Lucknow Police Launch ‘Eagle Mobile Team’

In a decisive move to curb rising crime in the city, the Lucknow Police has launched a special two-member unit in every police station called the ‘Eagle Mobile Team’, officially termed the Criminal Surveillance and Monitoring Team. Under the directions of Police Commissioner Amrendra Kumar Sengar, the initiative aims to maintain continuous surveillance on habitual offenders and verify their activities at the local level.

Dedicated Team for Every Police Station

A total of 51 police stations across Lucknow now have their own Eagle Mobile Team, each consisting of one Head Constable and one Constable. These teams have been provided with dedicated two-wheelers to enable swift movement across areas. Their primary responsibility is to visit residences of known criminals and verify and update their profiles regularly.

Daily Crime Dossier Submission Mandatory

Each team is mandated to prepare dossiers on at least 10 criminals every day. These reports will be scanned and sent to the District Crime Record Bureau (DCRB) and also uploaded on the Trinetra App, the police’s integrated crime data platform. The criminal photo albums at the police stations will also be updated regularly to reflect current status and intel.

Control Room for Central Monitoring

To ensure efficiency and accountability, a dedicated WhatsApp group has been created for these teams where daily activity reports will be posted. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) – Crime, who is also the Nodal Officer for this initiative, will monitor and coordinate all team operations.

A special Control Room is being set up at the DCRB office to track information collected by Eagle Teams in real-time and use it strategically for crime prevention.

Notably, Eagle Mobile Team members will not be assigned any other duty, ensuring their complete focus remains on surveillance and criminal tracking.

Police officials believe that this specialized monitoring mechanism will significantly strengthen local intelligence, deter criminal activity, and reinforce public confidence in the city’s law and order system.
